FAMILY CHAMPIONS OF THE NORTH COUNTRY Mission: Family Champions of the North Country is a "parent run" organization that strives to help families have access to needed information, support, and services. Serving Franklin, Clinton, Essex, Hamilton, and St. Lawrence Counties in New York State. What We Do:Parent Mentoring, 24 Hour Message Line, Increase Community Awareness, Support Groups. Guest Speakers, Outreach and Public Awareness, Resource Library, Training and Training Information, Referrals to Other Agencies, Help in Finding Services, and Help with Clothing and Furniture. Aids and Services:A written Resource Directory for the 5 counties. This directory is about 360 pages and a useful tool for both parent and community professionals. This Publication will be free to parents from the 5 counties. A Family Mentoring Program for "at risk" families and for families whose children have been placed in foster care. We provide Day care for the "Common Sense Parenting" classes in Tupper Lake, NY. With the assistance of the "Rotary Club" We are setting up a "Help Closet" where we accept donations of new and good used clothing and furniture and then is given to anyone who is in need. The "Help Closet" is located in Tupper Lake, NY but serves all Five of our Upstate Counties.
