“GETTYSBURG”  A Lyrical Ballet  By: “The Gotta Dance Studio”

For the late summer of 2008, the Civil War Enrichment Days Weekend will occur. The event will take a look at the past, (1860’s), during the most turbulent years in American history. The American Civil War would cost the lives of 632,026 men, women & children not counting civilians. A war which would cost approximately $2.5 million per day, (in 1860), for 4 years, to wage. A war where American fought Americans, fathers fought sons, and brothers fought brothers. A war which would involve every major country in the world.

This event will consist of both Union and Confederate rein actors, military and civilian. The weekend events will include: an educational day for area schools, on Friday the 12th. Parents are encouraged to attend with teacher notification. Please contact your school if you are interested in attending on this day. Further weekend events for the general public will include: military and civilian demonstrations, skirmishes (battles) on Saturday and Sunday, ad lib skits, a cotillion (dance) on Saturday evening-public participation is encouraged. You do not have to be a rein actor to participate in the dance. Also guided candlelight tours will be given on Saturday evening. A full schedule of events with corresponding times will be published in local papers and be available at the event site itself. For your interest and convenience. Camps will be open thought out this weekend during scheduled times to be posted. This event is open to children and adults of all ages. This event is supported by NEMDA (local re-enactors), Tupper Lake Central Schools, The Village of Tupper Lake, The Town of Altamont, Tupper Lake businesses, area businesses, Tupper Lake clubs and organizations, The Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce, and interested individuals like you.

This event is open to all sutlers & their families. There is no charge at this event for set-up of your sutlery. The only charge required of you is the re-enactor registration fee of $5.00/Adult, Children under 16 are free.
