Friday, Sept. 12th, 2008: Educational Day

8:30am - 3:00pm: The educational day is purely for students, teachers, and interested parents, to learn more about the Civil War. Area school classes will tour throughout the period camps with their teachers, and invited parents. The children will have the opportunity to speak with Re-enactors, and to experience camp life. Students will also have the opportunity to view live demonstrations on several aspects of the Civil War era. All nature trails will be open for public & re-enactor use throughout the weekend,

 

 

 

Saturday, Sept. 13th, 2008:

7:00am: Reveille, Roll call, Breakfast, Camp inspections:

9:00am--11:30am: Camps Open to the Public; Miniature Battle display (“Culp's Hill", Gettysburg, PA.), Period Musical ensembles “Bear Strings", period demonstrations, scenarios and camp-life. Sutlers will be open throughout the entire weekend. Please include a visit to them while touring the camps.

10:00 am - 11:00am: Infantry and Artillery drills

11:00am - 12:00pm: Lunch; camps will remain open for public interest

12:00pm - 2:00pm: Period demonstrations, scenarios, period music ensembles. All exhibits and displays are open to the public. Public interaction encouraged. Period camp-life on display

2:00pm: Re-enactors form for battle.

2:30pm - 3:30pm: Battle (located in the lower fields)

 

 

 

 

3:30pm - 4:00pm: Battle, Presentations, Dress parade, Event ceremonies,

4:00 - 5:00pm:  Dinner, Camps will remain open for public interest

6:00pm - 8:00pm: Guided Twilight Tours (open to the public) to include ad lib skits, and period demonstrations, period music ensembles. All displays in school will remain open,

8:00pm - Cotillion (dance) at the LP Quinn. The public is encouraged to attend and participate (period dress not required) Refreshments will be served. Live period music by “Bear Strings"

11:00pm:  Camps All Quiet. Taps

 

 

Sunday, Sept 14th, 2008

7:00am - 9:00am:  Reveille, Roll call, Breakfast, Camp inspections

8:00am:  Officers call and Optional Tactical for re-enactors only.

9:00am: Camps open to public

9:00am - 10:00am: Infantry and artillery drilling, period demonstrations, scenarios, exhibits, period music ensembles, public interaction and camp-life.

10:00am: Religious services (open to the public)

10:30 - 11:00: All general raffles will be drawn , Re-enactor raffle in cafeteria ( re-enactors must be present to win)

11:00am - 12:00 pm:  Lunch, Camps will remain open to the public!

12:00pm: Re-enactors form for battle

12:30pm:  Battle (located in the lower fields) to be followed with closing ceremonies Re-Enactors Farewell       Thank you for your Attendance & Support
