            For the late summer of 2008, September 12th, 13th, & 14th, Tupper Lake, NY will host 4th Annual Civil War Enrichment Days.  This event is supported entirely from donations from organizations, clubs, local businesses, and private citizens. Last Year's event was a huge success, not only for area students but for the general public as well. Many interested people attended, and a huge interest became evident in this area, in regards to the civil war era.  The civil war weekend is a great benefit to the area, and to the education of the public, mainly our younger generation.  The event will be held at the same location as last year on the LP Quinn elementary school property.  The encampment, itself, will be located in the middle field area, adjacent to the oval track.  The weekend will also include, an educational day for area schools, a battle scenario on Saturday and Sunday, and many demonstrations and activities for the public throughout the weekend.

            Therefore as director/organizer of this event, I would like to ask for your generous support, so that this and future events can occur.  As re-enactors we do not get paid for what we do, and any profit we make,, goes back into historical preservation, education and events such as this one.  There are many costs in doing an event such as this.  Costs such as: porta-johns, food supplies, firewood, trash removal, mailing costs, powder, gas, advertising, etc. etc..  Therefore I would like to ask for a monetary donation to help in deferring these numerous costs.  All sponsors will be considerable attention and support.  Please return your prompt response to this letter as preparations are in the process for this event.
